“One World: Together at Home”, the star-studded concert broadcast across multiple television channels and online last Saturday night, drawing 20.7 million viewers according to Nielsen data.
As the world is experiencing the pandemic of COVID-19, the special concert curated by Lady Gaga in partnership with the World Health Organization and non-profit organization Global Citizenship, was aimed to encourage the frontline medical workers, as well as raising funds.
Global Citizen tweeted after the concert, claiming the event had raised $127.9 million for health care workers and coronavirus relief.
The eight-hour stream of virtual performances consisting of a six-hour pre-show available online and a two-hour main event, brought together an amazing roster of the biggest stars on the planet were who presented the shows in their own homes via streams, responding to the call of social distancing. Among them, Hong Kong Cantopop icons Jacky Cheung and Eason Chan have also joined.
Besides, on the coming Saturday night, Hong Kong local artists including Fiona Sit, Leo Ku and Louis Cheung will hold YouTube Music Night to support the fight against Coronavirus of Hong Kong people.

Lady Gaga – Smile
Lady Gaga kicked off the two-hour main concert with a rendition of Charlie Chaplin’s classic “Smile”.
“I care so much about all of the medical workers that are putting their lives at risk for us right now. I think of them every day, I pray for them every day, and I’m also thinking of all of you that are at home, who are wondering when this is all going to be different,” She said before the performance.
Rolling Stones – You Can’t Always Get What You Want
Four members of the legend English rock band, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts performed socially-distance version of their 1969 hit “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”.
Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello – What a Wonderful World
The couple sat side by side before the piano, with Mendes playing the keys and candles burning aside, together performed the song “What a Wonderful World”.
John Legend, Sam Smith – Stand by Me
John Legend and Sam Smith, the two award-winning artists put their voice together to make a remote duet on 1961’s hit “Stand by Me”. They showed up on two separate screens and sang from their respective homes.
Jacky Cheung – Touch of Love
Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung also joined the concert. Before the window-shades, he performed his English song “Touch of Love” emotionally.
Taylor Swift – Soon You’ll Get Better
Taylor Swift played the piano and delivered a sentimental song “Soon You’ll Get Better” from her album “Lover”. It’s a song she wrote about her mother’s struggle with cancer and it was the first time she performed it on live.
Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Lady Gaga, Lang Lang, John Legend – The Prayer
Four world-class artists, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, John Legend and Andrea Bocelli ended the two-hour show with a stunning four-part harmony, “The Prayer,” which Dion and Bocelli recorded 21 years ago. Chinese Pianist Lang Lang accompanied them.
