“Today is a celebration of who you are,” said Kimberley Carder, an ambassador of Women’s Five at the opening of the running race on April 13th.
At 7:45 am, around 300 female participants gathered in Aberdeen Country Park to warm up for 5km or 10km run. They could choose to run individually or in a group of two. On Saturday morning, they competed with each other but also celebrated friendships.
Amy Mumford ranked No. 1 in the individual 10km run. “Believe it or not, it’s more relaxing running than being a mommy for children,” said Mumford, mother of five children, “it gives me a chance to listen to music and remember who I am.”
