The Chairman and WING Restaurant have been ranked second and third in Asia by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. The five Hong Kong Restaurants, including Caprice, Neighbourhood, Mono, Estro, and Ando, have also been listed in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.

Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants was established in 2013 to honour culinary excellence throughout the region and to offer diners worldwide valuable insights and dining suggestions. Since its launch, it has swiftly risen to be the leading gastronomic ranking in Asia, with its awards ceremonies serving as the highlight of the year for chefs, restaurateurs, media, and food industry influencers. Moreover, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants has established itself as a credible guide for food enthusiasts, highlighting emerging chefs and culinary trends.
The Chairman
The Chairman is committed to upholding the storied legacy of Cantonese cuisine, which has flourished for over two thousand years and remains the most popular and influential of China’s “eight culinary classical styles,” thanks to its focus on “freshness.” The Chairman prioritises locally sourced ingredients, products from neighbourhood condiment shops, and seafood from local fishermen to ensure the highest quality in every dish. Their cooking philosophy is deeply rooted in tradition, emphasising the enhancement of natural flavours rather than unnecessary embellishment, as they believe that even the simplest dishes require exceptional culinary skill and thoughtful preparation.

Mr Lee, the customer who has visited The Chairman since the old location, shared that although it moved to the new location, The Chairman remains unchanged. “The restaurant still does not impress customers with the luxury of ingredients, but the combination of ingredients and the harmony of flavours are still excellent. I agree with the restaurant’s business philosophy of not using broth because any ingredient added with broth will become monotonous and uniform.”
Eunice, the person-in-charge of The Chairman, felt deeply honoured to be ranked number two. “This recognition is unexpected and truly belongs to our dedicated team, many of whom have been with us for over a decade,” she said. She also convinced that food is always the most essential element for any restaurant. “Let great food speak for itself and foster connection,” she said.
