Da Nang’s Love Bridge, Vietnam’s Pont des Arts

Visiting Da Nang’s Love Bridge would be one of the must-do items for traveling couples in love. Inspired by the famous padlock bridges all over the world, the bridge is situated on the east of the Tran Hung Dao street, next to the famous attraction Dragon Bridge and near the Han river. Couples attach padlocks to bridge railings as tokens of unbreakable love. They believe the padlock can safeguard, preserve their love and at the same time protect their lovers.

The legend of the Love Bridge could be traced back to the 1900s, when a schoolmistress Nada promised to meet her lover, Reija, an army officer to pledge their love on the bridge right before WWI. Unfortunately, the soldier went on a war with the Germans and ended up marrying a women in Greece. Despite of Nada’s tragic love story, the bridge remains an inspiration for young couples to devote love to their partners against all odds.
